Discretionary

PLEASE NOTE - Currently, there is no funding available through the Children’s Trust Fund.  General Prevention and Discretionary funds appropriated for state fiscal year 2008 have been obligated. The Request for Applications for the General Prevention Grant Program will be released in January 2008 contingent upon funds available .  Applications for Discretionary funding will be accepted after April 1, 2008, contingent on available funding for FY 2009.  Both applications will be available on-line beginning in January 2008 (subject to funds available).

Each year the Children’s Trust Fund (CTF) allocates a certain portion of its program budget to fund discretionary projects.  Requests are limited to a maximum of $5,000 per application. Discretionary funding is designed to be responsive to low cost prevention projects. Examples of projects include voluntary prevention programs such as home visitation, safe crib/home risk assessment, infant massage, mentoring programs, parenting programs, prevention educational materials for the public, conference sponsorships.
